My Wish is for a United Planet.
I’m going to be realistic about this however, I know it is not going to happen overnight, and perhaps not even in my lifetime. But I’ll be darned if I just sit around and not do what I can to see it get a good start.
You may be wondering why I didn’t just say: “I wish for World Peace”.
People have been hearing those two words since forever and take a good look at the world. What do you see? So it is time for some New Words that might get people to pay attention.
There is a concept out there that says it takes two thirds of the billions of us to be actively working towards unification and harmony for this to work. The last third of people who for whatever reason will not or cannot get on board with this won’t matter. Or at the very least, they will be powerless to do anything about it.
So what can you do?
Ever heard this tired adage: “World Peace starts at home”.
Well as tired out as that saying is: it is true to the bone.
Take a look at your immediate surroundings. I mean your Home. The people you live with. If you live alone, look at your circle of friends, people you interract with on a daily/weekly etc basis. Look at your immediate family, no matter if they are scattered to the winds.
Forge friendships.
Work on creating harmony in your relationships with people, instead of strife. Pass on a friendly smile, a hug. Say those words: “I love you” and “I care about you” and “you mean the world to me”. Be the first to extend a mutual solution to that feud you’ve been having with your neighbors.
Spread some sunshine wherever you go. Its pretty catching you know.
This is the hardest thing you will EVER do in your life. Take it one step at a time. One relationship at a time. Make that phone call to your estranged sibling and just say: “hey was thinking about you. I hope you are doing well”. Send an email or a snail mail card.
Use this time of year to get a jump start on what will take the rest of your lifetime to achieve. But do it.
I’m not saying I have it all down perfect. I too am starting on this journey with you. And I’ve got bridges to repair and relationships to mend just like you do.
So Lets do it.
If all you do is reach out to one person who’s been close to you before, but for whatever reason has drifted away – it will make all the difference in the world.
Just like how we go around turning off the lights in the rooms we aren’t using – to conserve energy – just like how we take a few seconds to toss our soda can into the recycling bin…. Its just a little thing, but if dozens, hundreds of us start to take those first important steps….
It spreads like ripples on a pond and soon its not just us, but thousands and millions and billions of us, and then – Oh Then – collectively – United – we make that difference.
That is my Wish.
I’m so tired of the killing and dying. I just can’t stand it anymore.
Wage Peace
Unite Earth
Harmonize the Planet
Reach for the Stars
