I thought I would understand this “whole thing going on in the Middle East” when I grew up, got older, got a bit wiser to the world.
Well here I am, and I still don’t get it. This has nothing to do with (at least from me) about religion or politics. Or who’s side I’m on or any such trivial things like that.
I remember… I think I was in high school… seeing footage of youths tossing rocks at tanks. I don’t remember who was who, but I’ll bet you dollars to donuts it was the same people who are going at it at hammer and tongs today.
Look here, I’m just not understanding something. This chica is all up on CNN saying that in order to teach these other people a lesson ie to stop chucking their homemade incindieries at their well heeled army: that is the reason they are chopping out hundreds (prolly in the thousands by now) of their people – military or civilian alike.
See this is what I’m thinking. Since her attitude was one of a parent to a child. So if we continue along her line of thought… Suppose you get notice that your child beat up another kid at school. Well of course you beat the crap out of your kid, enough to send em to the hospital: all the while telling them that the reason why you are being so violent on them, is to teach them a lesson that being violent is wrong.
Yep doesn’t make much sense does it? And besides, forget that condescending tone and line of thought from that world leader. She had nothing to say when the interviewer asked her about the huge disparities between armed forces and their subsequent disparities between numbers of people hurt, maimed and killed.
“Please stop tossing your hoopty lil rockets over onto our land. We are getting sorta tired of it.”
That seems a handy sentence with which to initiate dialogue.
But I guess things are never really all that simple. But I think that they are. If I was not the person I am: The pacifist, Buddhist type person I might harbour such wicked thoughts as:
Hmmm I wish I was a billionaire so I could buy the underdog lots of fancy military type stuff including a whole army, and THEN lets see what’s what!
But thats silly thinking! Silly enough, but it seems to be the way the world’s head is at. Pretty easy to invade someone’s area and “teach them a lesson” when they have nothing but some oversized firecrackers and stones to toss back at ya.
Just like us in Iraq and Afghanistan. Ooop Oh Well.
I’m just your Friendly Neighborhood Optimist and Straight Thinker here. What the hell do I know about the Real World?
Happy New Year!
