From Doover's silver glove, us all trying to master the moonwalk, waiting breathless glued to MTV for his video debuts, Lil Cousin Cady pointing out "Mitah Dassin" from a picture book.... Heck.. I remember one October, we spent the whole month in my dance class (Elvia's in Berkeley) learning the Thriller moves step for step, so we could do an in-class performance of it (all dressed up as zombis!) on Halloween... I guess, while he was alive, we could hope that he would recover from whatever was afflicting him. Now we just have memories.
